This question has come up quite a lot during the pandemic.
For many, the pandemic has resulted in people choosing to stay in their job for security purposes. But experiencing life through these difficult times has also resulted in people reflecting on many aspects of their life, including their work and career.
So if you have thought about moving on from your job, I recommend asking yourself the following questions and reflecting on what comes up for you.
Have your priorities changed? If so, what about the pandemic has changed them?
Were you thinking about moving on from your job before the pandemic?
What is important to you right now?
What are your short-term and long-term goals? Does your current job and employer align with these?
What will you no longer accept?
What are you willing to be flexible on?
Has working remotely (if applicable) changed anything for you?
What do you need to feel comfortable to make an informed decision about moving on from your job?
By asking yourself these questions, you will begin a reflection process that will assist you to deep dive into these areas. I suggest to use a journal, write down what comes up for you and come back to these questions as more thoughts, realisations and ideas arise.
Just remember to be patient and kind to yourself as you become aware of what comes up for you.
